Post 1 - Introduction

I love a captive audience… be mine?

Hi y’all, and welcome to post one of changing my life by adding to it, not taking from it. I started this blog as a main part of my year of discovery before I decide if I’m going to law school or not. You may be thinking, “That’s really strange,” or “What the hell does travel and books have to do with law school?” And well, all thoughts are valid, but let me start from the beginning. My name is Alexa, and I’m currently working in sales for a company I actually love, but I know that while I love what I do, it’s not the only thing I want to do. Enter my long-time dream of law school. I spent the past year dedicating every free moment to research, studying, and taking the steps to be a top applicant for a top law school but around month nine I started to wonder if this long time dream was no longer actually a dream but something I was embarking upon because I was too far along and too afraid to turn off the road. So after 3 more months of half-hearted law school prep, a looming application window for the 26-27 school year, and many cries with Amanda my therapist, I decided to take this year to really give in to my curiosity and explore every single avenue (as best as possible) that I might be interested in before committing to 300k in debt and 3 years of hard studying. And here we are, one of the first things that came to mind when I opened myself up to other possibilities besides law was my favorite hobby: Adventure. I have been a lifelong adventurer both in books and in the real world, and so Adventures with Alexa was born out of that wanderlust. Whether it’s cozying up with an incredible read or getting lost in a new city, you will find an avenue of escapism within my blog through a hodgepodge of my short stories (fiction and nonfiction), itineraries I spend way too long creating, tips, tricks, and guides to both books and travel. I am so excited to be on this new “adventure” (take a shot every time I type that, please), and I hope you decide to join me!
